Even A Child Can Share

Even A Child Can Share

Recently, as part of our “Light Of The World” campaign, we had a Gospel presentation from Ty Hall, a child within our church. May you be encouraged by hearing a little bit of that story.

Q: Who did you tell about Jesus?

A: My friend named Alex.

Q: What were you doing that gave you the chance to talk about Jesus?

A: We were talking about all the things that live in the desert.

Q: What did you tell him about Jesus?

A: I told him that God made the birds, trees, cactus, and rocks, but that God didn’t make cars. He just gave people the things to make cars. And that Jesus is God, and he made us too. That’s why we should believe in Jesus.

Q: What made you want to tell someone about Jesus?

A: I knew it was a good thing to tell people about Jesus.

What can we learn from a child sharing the Gospel?

First, sharing the Gospel is as much a matter of love for others as it is having a great theological knowledge. Children are not going to be the most articulate Gospel witnesses, and that’s okay. As long as they have a desire for obedience to God and a love for others, God will bless their efforts. The same principle is true for us as well. While we must always be growing in our understanding of our great God and how to articulate who He is, our greater problem is often that we are often cold and uncaring toward those who live apart from Jesus. We must pray that God would help us to love others.

Secondly, if you have children, train and encourage them to join you in sharing the Gospel this year! As you share the good news with your child, also explain the importance of sharing this good news with others.  After all, sharing Jesus is for every age! Even with their limited knowledge, our children can share Jesus if they simply have a little encouragement and care for others.

Pray and step out in faith this week to share the Gospel!
